The waitlist · Effective 07/13/2026
This page is about one thing: the Epistula waitlist. It is short because the waitlist is small. Epistula itself is not open yet, and when it is, it will have its own, longer privacy policy.
Who is responsible
You can reach us at hello@epistula.app.
What we collect
Only what you type into the form:
- Your name, so a letter can begin with it rather than with "Dear user".
- Your email address, so we can write to you.
- Whether you ticked the box asking for occasional emails after launch, and the date you ticked it.
Nothing else. No cookies, no analytics, no advertising tools, no third-party trackers. Nobody is watching you read this page.
Why we keep it
To write to you once, on the day Epistula opens. That is the reason you gave us the address, and it is the reason we hold it. In legal terms, the basis is your consent.
If you also ticked the optional box, we will write to you now and then after that: reflections, news, the occasional word. That is a separate consent, and you gave it separately. Every one of those emails will carry a link to stop them, and stopping them does not remove you from the waitlist.
Where it is kept
In a database hosted by Supabase, in Ireland. The list cannot be read from this website; the site can only add to it. It cannot be read by anyone but us.
Who else sees it
Nobody. We do not sell, rent, share, or trade the list. When the day comes to send the emails, we will use an email delivery service, and at that point your address will pass through it in order to reach you. That is the only third party involved, and its only job is to carry the letter.
How long we keep it
Until Epistula opens and we have written to you, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first. If you consented to the occasional emails, we keep your address until you unsubscribe.
What you can ask for
Under the GDPR you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, hand it to you in a portable form, or stop using it. You can withdraw your consent at any time, and withdrawing it does not make anything we did beforehand unlawful.
Write to hello@epistula.app and we will do it. There is no form to fill in and no hoop to jump through. If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority; in Portugal, that is the CNPD.
If this changes
We will change the date at the top. If the change is a real one, and not a comma, we will write to you before it takes effect.
